so i recently realised the bike was going slower than it ever had before when i moved the carb needle to the right position so i posted up on here to find out what it was i was told to get new rollers but just after that my friend and i went on a cruise and while he was riding next to me he said it sounded like my bike was missfiring so i went for a new iridium plug but now the bike just backfires at full throttle could over fueling be my problem ? and also i cant get the crank nut off it just spins :/

You've de threaded your crank, That's pretty much a new crank. Take the iradium plug out and run a cooler plug. Try emptying the carb and cleaning it out. What are the specs ? A

if its popping/misfiring when you try and start the bike its probably a fucked reed (visually check for big bits missing) if its at full throttle ALL the time it could well be the oil seals.. could well be a few things tho. iridium plugs are for asshole shopkeepers to charge you 4 times what the plug should be. remove this asap. no need atall

well now i have the notch at the middle put the jet down to 72 and at full throttle will be up and down revvs really lumpy and thats with the normal plug :/ found out choke was stuck on fixed that but made no difference iridium plug is gone but the spark on it was normal :/

why are you ajusting the needle for full throttle problems?.. put the needle as stock. fit a NEW stock replacment plug, check the reeds then go from there..

Wait you're using a 72 ? you either have a small carb or are you running a standard bike with a air filter ?

aerox's use WAY bigger jets than piaggio's.... the 72 is way too small imo. roller issue maybe (how does it rev from the line right up to top speed?) again, oil seals or rings are a likely culprate... compression test and visual inspection of seals

Okay ill put a bigger jet back in and the bike has at a larger wider port on the exhaust polini carbon reeds mallossi variation and im running 4.5 gram rollers but i need to drop them down to 3 and yes i had a terrible fuel economy so i changed the needle to standard but now when i go full throttle it just feels so lumpy so i have to back off to get it to run at a constant rpm

no the bike does not backfire all the time just when i go off the throttle its just lumpy jumps up and down speeds

sounds like transmission problems twinned wiht poor carb setup.. set the carb to stock, bash a big jet in there, set the transmission up, then lean the jet out.

it would help if i new what stock jet they had in them.. i dont really touch aerox's nor remember stock figures for them

For the standard 12 it should have been at about 72 but this carb had a 79 jet in when i ot it as its17.5 and i think its off a piaggio i know its hard for you to tell me what to do because of not working on aerox's and i appreciate all the advice that you give me but how do i lean it out and i need to swap the crank over because of the thread put i need to keep the bearings in

it pops when the bike gets up to higher revs like downhill and it misses slightly at idle smells really lean

hard to smell "lean" especially at idle...

could well be rich causing the popping and backfiring. were going round in circles on this one tbh. you need to try something OTHER than a stupidly big or small jet.. the guide is really quite concise when it comes to carb setup.. if you cant figure it out with that thenid sudgest slinging the thing on a dyno

if the bike only go's into the high revs when going down hill the rollers are too heavy.. again, this could cause the popping and again the roller guide explaines this ins imple terms.. if however the bike is revving fine all the way up to 50 ish and your taking the piss revving the tits out of the bike downhill then dont..

I just had my aerox tuned by a local scooter shop last week... it goes alot better... I gave it to him with 3.5g rollers and he said now that it was tuned properly I need to increse weight. When I road it home, (he was right).. it was screaming its head off with not much top speed... but acceleration was punchy and going great. I have since put 4.1g weights in it, and the top speed is back where it should be... although when I cruise at 65kmh, (and hold it steady), it pops and back fires like no bodies business !! ??? When I throttle flat out again its back to being great again... its only when cruising at a steady pace... its like the bike only wants to go fast... !!??

My mate had this problem when putting an air filter on, after some fuckin about we put an 100 jet in and it runs perfect (50cc) hitting 55 top only thing change are the airfilter and jet.
