Hello all, I have noted the knowledgeable replies in here which is why I am posting :good:. My son's blaster has been brilliant - we have had it from new and have had no problems attributable to poor manufacturing or design. It's running a standard exhaust & carb and recently it started running really badly at full throttle. I immediately thought 'blocked main jet' so I have removed the carb, stripped it and removed and cleaned the main jet and filter bowl, blowing everything through. It wasn't too bad anyway. I noticed that the rubber hose connecting the air filter to the carb had split so I replaced the entire air filter as the hose is not available separately :banghead:. I have checked the fuel tap is working by sucking on one of the pipes and noting fuel pour continuously out of t'other. Looks like enough fuel is getting to the carb. I have dismantled and checked the float/needle valve assembly and that looks fine too. The floats are floating. The scoot runs very sweetly from cold and will accept full throttle so I guess the choke is working however once warmed up giving the motor full throttle makes it die. Again, it's fine on 2/3 throttle. I can't see anything wrong, has anyone else come across this before and do you have any (sensible and printable) suggestions please? Best regards, Paul.
There could be an air leak somewhere, causing the engine to run lean which would cause full throttle bogging. Check the inlet manifold for splits, make sure everything is connected to the carb properly, and tightly. If not, maybe try upjetting a little.
